2004 – first child, student, and a self-built website to share photos. What started as a hobby quickly became clear: companies need exactly this. HTML, PHP, JavaScript – self-taught. WordPress in its infancy – already there. A conversation with Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress, shaped the view of what digital platforms can achieve. More children followed – six in total – and a non-linear path through jobs, projects, with self-employment always as the constant.

UNITO was the catalyst. For the first time, digital marketing at a global level – with real resources, real reach, real results. But also for the first time, clearer than ever: large structures create large silos. Agency products optimise themselves. In-house teams optimise their own existence. The client – and their success – is structurally left behind.

Agencies followed – more dynamic, flatter hierarchies, faster decisions. The core problem remained. Alongside this, always self-employed, always with clients who proved the opposite: that focused, cross-channel work with clearly defined goals works. That fewer measures, consistently executed, achieve more than any agency package.

The ABB Group – a final corporate milestone. Leading a global digital marketing team, connecting sales focus with corporate communication, all within the automation industry. Learned an incredible amount again. Same structural system again.
2020 was not a decision made in a moment. It was the logical consequence of over 15 years of creeping realisation: a completely new model is needed. Sinnvoll Digital.
